RADICAL VISIONS

Ruins x V&A

For October 2020 for Friday Late, FUBUNATION bring their performance of ‘Ruins’; to the galleries of the V&A, exploring the balance between conflict, vulnerability and co-dependency. The piece addresses the myth of masculinity as it’s felt within the Pan-African diaspora: by creating a space where the black male figure is more visible and honestly represented, it gives powerful testimony to the generational trauma inherited by men from marginalised groups.

I Am From

Exploring themes of migration, race politics, climate change, imperialism, spirituality and nature. ‘I am From’ is a time capsule travelling through the history of a geographic, historical landmark that is also a well-kept secret. Revealing these secrets in an abstract, visual audible film, I am From intends to enlighten and transport the viewer from the beginning to the end, to unknown spaces of our imagination. Solidifying the most concrete truth of our life, the fact we exist.
